#PETALUMA PROUD of Officer Al Farinha and Jimmy
Officer Al Farinha and his canine partner, Jimmy, served with distinction as a police canine team for seven years. Their work led to numerous high-risk suspect apprehensions and the seizure of more than 900 pounds of methamphetamine, 15 pounds of heroin, and 4 pounds of cocaine.
When a police canine reaches seven years of service, retirement is a best practice for the quality of life of the dog.
Jimmy was officially retired on November 13, 2019 and will enjoy retirement at home with Officer Farinha.
Officer Farinha and Jimmy: thank you for protecting your fellow police officers and the entire community. We wish you well in your future endeavors.
