#PETALUMA PROUD of Detective Corie Joerger & Basko
Petaluma Police officer Corie Joerger and Basko served as a police canine team for eight years. During that time, they were responsible for numerous high-risk suspect apprehensions and the seizure of millions of dollars in narcotics and contraband.
When a police canine reaches seven years of service, retirement is a best practice for the quality of life of the dog.
Because Officer Joerger was appointed to the position of Detective, Basko was officially retired on January 12, 2020 and will enjoy retirement at home with Detective Joerger.
Detective Joerger & Basko: thank you for protecting your fellow police officers and the entire community. We wish you well in your future endeavors.
