COVID-19 Special Business Resources

Below is a list of resources to help businesses and nonprofits navigate the COVID-19 crisis. The City of Petaluma is working hard to keep our community safe and informed. Please contact us if you have a question or concern that is not answered in the resources below.

Petaluma Downtown Association

Our local Downtown Association has compiled a list of restaurants & other businesses that are open during the Shelter-in-Place event.

Sonoma County Legal Aid's Disaster Team

Offers assistance to businesses that cannot afford to hire an attorney. Call 559-429-6974 and leave a message; a Legal Aid staff member will return your call.

Ask An Attorney Free Virtual Office Hours 

Every Thursday at 4 p.m. Bring your questions and learn key updates from experienced professionals and attorneys covering topics including PPP and unemployment, practical advice on borrowing, payroll issues and more.

Napa-Sonoma Small Business Development Center 

A wonderful local resource that is responding to COVID-19 with webinars and free, personalized support from expert business advisors. Also providing support to businesses interested in applying for an SBA disaster relief loan. Find out more on their website.

Sonoma County Economic Development Board

Our County Economic Development Board has compiled a list of resources for businesses. This includes links to industry-specific Best Practices Management Plans and the County's Self-Certification website.

State EDD COVID-19 Page

Find info about payroll tax extension and other employer-related concerns, as well as details for employees about unemployment benefits, State Disability Insurance, and other EDD-related matters.

State Franchise Tax Board

This website provides information about potential tax extensions and other relief efforts for business.

Internal Revenue Service (IRS)

The IRS is offering several different programs to provide tax relief to businesses. The agency has also moved the deadline to file 2019 taxes from April 15, 2020, to July 15, 2020.

 

Small Business Administration (SBA)
