Come volunteer with us at Petaluma Fire Station #2 for a morning of weeding, sheet mulching, and planting!
The Petaluma Fire Station #2 landscape is in need of some love, care, and maintenance and we need your help to make it happen. So, please join us on Saturday, February 10th for a morning of sheet mulching, weeding, planting, and community-building!
Sheet mulching is a low-cost, low-impact opportunity to prepare your landscape for planting and irrigation. It’s also a great way to reduce weed pressure and retain water on the landscape, all while using recycled material – compost, cardboard, and mulch! At the program, we’ll talk in detail about how the sheet mulch process works, the benefits, and rebates that can help you offset costs.
By joining our program, you’ll not only be lending a hand in helping us prepare the site for future planting and alleviating extra work for our local firefighters, but will be able to learn more about the sheet mulching practice that can be applied to any size site!
