The proposed project is for a 107,891-square foot main building and a 28,216-square foot Garden Center in the area that was previously an approximately 90,000 square foot Kmart in the northwest corner of the approximately 19-acre shopping Plaza North Shopping Center located at 261 North McDowell Boulevard. The proposal includes effectively demolishing the former Kmart building and constructed the new building in a similar enlarged footprint. The proposed building is with an approximately 25 foot tall with an increased parapet height of 34 feet at the main entrance, one-story building that would be accessed by North McDowell Boulevard and the existing shopping center parking lot. The project includes allocation of 454 parking stalls in the existing shopping center surface parking lot and a Tool Rental Center which among other things would provide truck and van rentals for customers.
