The most recent version of the proposed hotel project was submitted to the City in 2015.  That project proposed construction of a 54-room boutique hotel within a four-story building with a rooftop terrace.  Proposed entitlements included Historic Site Plan and Architectural Review and Zoning Ordinance Text Amendments to allow a height over 45 feet and a floor area ratio over 2.5.  The B Street portion of the site is within both the Downtown Parking Assessment District and the Petaluma Historic Commercial District.

Staff understands that the applicant continues to work on revisions to the project.  In 2019, the applicant held/participated in one or more informational meetings regarding the project.  The applicant anticipates near term resubmittal of a revised hotel project.
