Transit Center Improvements

Project Description

The project involves upgrading and a widening the existing sidewalks as well as constructing a new ADA van accessible parking spot and ramp to create improved pedestrian access to the Petaluma Transit Center. The project will also include the installation of a new fence and gate along transport way.

This project will not only increase accessibility, but it will also increase the staff and public safety by reducing the likelihood of accidents involving members of the public walking or driving through the busy bus yard.

Project Manager: Jonathan Sanglerat– Assistant Engineer II

Traffic Impact

Street traffic along Transport Way will be impacted during construction. The current two-lane street will likely be temporarily reduced to a one-lane street during construction. Any other areas under construction will not be accessible to the public. A portion of the sidewalk at the Transit Center will be closed for a short time.
