Ed Cerar, Petaluma’s #1 anti-graffiti volunteer, started his crusade against graffiti in 1998, when, as a new retiree, he approached the City’s Police and Public Works Departments offering to clean city property that had been vandalized or tagged with graffiti.

Since then, Ed has volunteered hundreds of hours removing graffiti from alleyways, buildings, parks, and signs citywide. Ed also manages the City’s graffiti hotline and coordinates graffiti clean-up projects with 500+ volunteers in his Graffiti Eradication Network, including juvenile offenders doing community service projects.
