City Communications

The City of Petaluma Communications Program is designed to make sure residents have the information they need to thrive at home, at work, and at play.

Community Update Bi-monthly Email

Every two weeks, your City Communications team sends an email with updates on major projects and community events, with the aim of reporting our progress to the community and supporting your involvement with your local government. As of January 2025, the Community Update goes to over 25,000 Petalumans interested in finding out what's happening in our City. Sign up below to receive future updates.

Project Emails

In addition to the bi-monthly Community Update emails, City staff frequently sends emails about specific projects to interested residents. Sign up for any and all future project or department updates below.

Social Media

Petaluma maintains active channels on Facebook, Instagram, NextDoor, X/Twitter, and YouTube. For Spanish-language readers, we also have dedicated Spanish channels on Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp. We invite you to follow us on any and all our channels for updates on City projects, from street improvements to safety alerts.

One Petaluma Podcast

Emails and social media often provide quick and easily digestible information on the City's work, but to give residents the big picture, we launched the One Petaluma Podcast in 2024. Each episode highlights a different City department or subject matter and features interviews with the public servants engaged in the work at every level. Listen and subscribe at any fine podcast purveyor, or in the embedded player below.
