WHAT WE DO

The Finance Department is committed to providing accurate and timely budgeting and reporting, clear and concise information delivery and support to City departments, citizens and the community. We are dedicated to a service-oriented team approach to providing financial information that meets fiduciary and regulation responsibilities all in the spirit of financial transparency.  

The Finance Department provides financial management and accounting services to City operations as well as the business community and public. Services include budgeting and financial planning, financial reporting and accounting, utility billing, revenue collection, debt management, tax program administration, investments, payroll administration and disbursements.

Jessie Gooch has been the City's Finance Director since October 2023 and is excited to serve the community and ensure fiscal responsibility. Jessie began her government finance career in 2006 and has worked at both the state and local level specializing in accounting and budgeting. She firmly believes in transparency and accountability, and as a Sonoma County native is dedicated to helping Petaluma thrive.
