Technical Assistance and Public Meeting

The City will be holding a community meeting to discuss the grant program, get community feedback and provide assistance regarding how to apply for the grant. The meeting, called a "technical assistance meeting"  will also review eligibility activities and the application process.  We will also provide technical support for the web based program - City Data Services, a new web portal service for submitting your application.

How To Apply for a Grant

City Data Services will be hosting the City of Petaluma’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), application process. For those that have existing programs, use exiting credentials and go to www.citydataservices.net to complete your application. New applications need to go to http://www.citydataservices.net and enter the username :PET2021 and password PET2021.

Complete the short questionnaire including agency name, program name and agency email to generate a unique username and password. Using the unique credentials, through City Data Services, you will be able to complete your application .If you need assistance logging in or technical assistance with your application, contact Chris at (415) 572-4572 or Steve at (650) 533-5933.

Application Due Date

Applications for 2021-2022 CDBG funds are due no later than 5:00P.M. on March 5, 2022. Applications must be submitted via the www.citydataservices.net . If you have any immediate questions please contact Karen Shimizu, Housing Manager at [email protected].

Annual Plan for the CDBG Funds

Beginning on March 19, 2021, the Draft CDBG Annual Action Plan 2021-2022 will be released for public comment.  The Plan will be available on the City’s website at https://cityofpetaluma.org/departments/housing/. Comments and question may be submitted via email to [email protected].

A public hearing will be held as part of the CDBG funding process.  The public hearing will present staff recommendations for allocation of CDBG funds for 2021-2022, including non-profit programs and allow the public to provide input.  On Monday, April 19, 2021 at 6:30 p.m., the City of Petaluma will hold a virtual public hearing in City Council Chambers.  Internet access information for the Public Hearing will be published for the Council meeting on the City’s website: https://cityofpetaluma.org/departments/housing/
