Light Up a Life

Light Up a Life is an annual community event that takes place at Walnut Park in Downtown Petaluma each December. Our community gathers to illuminate one of the largest trees in the park, in remembrance and celebration of the lives of those we have loved and lost during the past year.

Petaluma Turkey Trot

 The Petaluma Turkey Trot and Food Drive in a beloved annual event that takes place at the Ellis Creek Wetlands in Petaluma on Thanksgiving morning. It's a community collaboration between several local businesses and organizations, including MAD Architecture, Aqus Community, the Redwood Empire Food Bank, and the City of Petaluma. The best part of all? It's free, fun and for a great cause!

Stars & Stripes, Dogs & Bikes

This is a FREE family-friendly event that kicks off the 4th of July holiday and takes place at Lucchesi Park. It features food and beverage vendors, a bike parade, kids activities, a dog costume contest, and MORE!

Independence Day Fireworks Celebration

Look to the skies on the evening of July 4th to enjoy a high-elevation fireworks display over Petaluma! The fireworks will be displayed from the Sonoma Marin Fairgrounds on Thursday, July 4, 2024. The high elevation allows for the firework show to be viewed from many spaces throughout the City! Stay tuned for an updated map of viewing locations.

PLEASE REMEMBER: The use of personal fireworks is strictly prohibited in Petaluma. Local property owners are responsible for any firework activity that occurs on their property regardless of who possesses or lights the fireworks. Violations are subject to a $1,000 fine.
