Petaluma Swim Center Replastering Overview

The Petaluma Swim Center Pool Replastering project is underway and the bid creation phase will come to completion in late 2024. This planning and design phase of work will involve the creation of detailed design documents, pool plans, and permitting requirements. The construction phase of the project is anticipated to be about a 10-14 week process, starting early 2025.

Replastering Timeline

Update as of 9/23/2024. The City of Petaluma announces that the Petaluma Swim Center will be closed during late Winter 2024/early 2025 for a pool replastering project. A pre-bid walkthrough occurred on 9/23/2024 at 11:00am at the Petaluma Swim Center. The tentative Council bid award will be presented in November.

During the temporary closure, Parks and Recreation will be working closely with current management at both the Swim Center and the Cavanagh pool to transition all day-to-day operations of the pool to the City’s Parks and Recreation Department. In the coming months, the City will be soliciting feedback from the community and sharing updates regularly on aquatics offerings through our website, our bi-monthly newsletters, and at regular meetings of the Recreation, Music, and Parks Commission.

How to Stay Informed + Provide Feedback

Stay informed and provide input on elements of the program as they are developed over the next year by attending an upcoming Recreation, Music, and Parks Commission meeting. The agendas for these meetings will be posted the Friday before each meeting.
