Code Enforcement

Neighborhood Preservation, also known as code enforcement, is an established program to help preserve and improve the physical, social, and economic health of Petaluma’s neighborhoods. This program is designed to develop community partnerships between the City, its residents and neighborhoods. The quality of life of any community is reflected by the quality of its neighborhoods.   Neighborhood Preservation focuses on public education, empowerment, and the establishment of community partnerships and pride as the primary measure to gain voluntary compliance with the City’s Municipal CodeZoning Ordinance, and Adopted Building and Safety Codes. We strive to gain this through proactive, coordinated and cooperative steps to enhance the quality of its neighborhoods for the future. The City of Petaluma views its property owners, business owners, and residents as partners in maintaining the community as a desirable place to live and work.
