Meridian at Petaluma North Station



Project Description
The application is for a streamlined affordable and supportive housing development pursuant to AB 2162. The new construction project includes 131 affordable housing units, including 33 supportive housing units, within multiple three and four story buildings on approximately 5.3 acres of the larger 6.5 acre parcel. The units will be targeted as rentals to families earning between 30% and 80% of AMI. On-site management offices, supportive housing support services, and resident community space/amenities will be located within the project. Tenant amenities also include a community garden, dog run, playground, tot lot, and half basketball court. The proposal includes 138 on-site vehicular parking spaces as well as 126 on-site bike parking spaces, at least 1 bike hook provided in each apartment, and a bike storage room. Access to the site is from North McDowell. The project includes dedication of a parcel to Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) for build out of the Petaluma North Station, and reservation of the land at the corner of North McDowell and Corona Road intended for future development of neighborhood-serving commercial. Until that time, the project includes a small food truck/picnic area located between the apartments and the Petaluma North SMART station to enable a food service or a community amenity such as the library bus, to serve the immediate neighborhood and support SMART ridership in the short term as the area develops.
Note: this project was originally titled "Meridian at Corona Station" in the documents linked below. The name was updated to reflect the official station title (Petaluma North) in September 2023.
