MidPen Affordable Housing Project (SB-35)
Project Description
The application is for a streamlined affordable housing development pursuant to SB35. The new construction project includes 43 affordable housing units and 1 manager’s unit within a 44,432 square foot, 4-story building on a 0.68 acre parcel. The units will be targeted as rentals to households earning between 30% and 80% of AMI. On-site management offices and resident community space will be located on the ground floor. The proposal includes 21 on-site vehicular parking spaces and 20 bike parking spaces. Off site, and within the public right-of-way, the project would result in 14 new parallel parking spaces along Petaluma Boulevard North and Oak Street and 2 bike parking spaces. The existing improvements for Magic Wand Carwash will be demolished.
The City of Petaluma is the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) agent for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In this capacity, the City Petaluma has determined that the project will have no significant impact on the human environment and has published an Environmental Assessment (EA) documenting findings, see Project Documents below.
