Because the D Street Bridge is not staffed full-time we require a MINIMUM of 4 (four) hours notice to schedule a bridge opening between 6:00am and 6:00pm and 24 (twenty-four) hours notice to schedule bridge openings between 6:00pm and 6:00am, weekends and holidays.
Hours:
6:00 am to 6:00 pm – a minimum of 4 hours notice is required for opening
6:00 pm to 6:00 am, weekends and holidays – a minimum of 24 hours notice is required for opening

Haystack Landing Bridge
The Haystack Landing Bridge is operated by SMART Rail Operations Center. The drawspan will remain in the open position unless a train is approaching.
When onsite, the Bridge Tender will monitor marine channels 16/9. As appropriate the Bridge Tender will respond to audio or visual signals with the bridge horn.

- large vessel
- planned excursions,
- events
- large groups of vessels
- a specific date & time to transit the draw
- if wind/tide conditions limit your ability to maneuver
